Yes - a great success!!
Every 3 years the choirs of the 7 Quaker schools in England get
together to perform a joint choral work. This year it was the turn
of Sidcot School in Somerset to host the event, and Mendelssohn's
'Elijah' was performed in Wells Cathedral at 7 pm on Saturday 27th
March.
Following rehearsals over the last term, 23 of our pupils and 10
members of staff spent the last 3 days of this term at Sidcot School
rehearsing with choirs from the 6 other English Quaker School. 6
years ago it was our turn to host the event and Verdi's Requiem
was performed in Thaxted church in 1998. In 2001 Bootham School
in York hosted Britten's War Requiem at Ripon Cathedral.

Thanks to Sarah Westerhuis and Rob Morland for the photos; to Ian
Rowe for conducting our rehearsals and preparing us so well for
the event: and to the other staff who accompanied the trip and to
all who sang!
