"Our four days away from school were packed with concerts, theme parks and lots and lots of chocolate," said Deputy Junior School Head Sally Knight after a triumphant return from the orchestra's trip to Belgium.
The first concert was at a theme park, where the players so impressed their audience that they were later approached by two Dutch ladies who asked if they would be available to play in their theme parks in the Netherlands next year!
"Probably our best concert was played to a school in Mechelen," said Sally. "The audience received us with enthusiasm and even joined in with percussion instruments and sang along to 'She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain'. Our children played a storm."
Other highlights of the trip included visiting Mechelen's cathedral and enormous bell tower, mini-golf and a trip to a Belgian chocolate factory and an extremely wet boat ride through Bruges.
