During the first week of the summer term our Year 10 German GCSE students spent 7 days in Bremerhaven. The 3 girls and 7 boys stayed with their German partners from the Pestalozzischule. Accompanied by their teacher Peter Fasching the group enjoyed excursions to Hamburg, Bremen and the North Sea island of Helgoland. Visits to the new sealife zoo in Bremerhaven, the bowling alley and the space park rounded off the hectic but well received social programme.
'My German has definitely improved', 'When can we go back' and 'This was the best school trip ever ' were just some of the comments by the students on their return.

And our German partners visited us in September 2003.

The next Exchange trip is currently being organised for September 2004 when a new cohort of German students will be visiting Saffron Walden. Our next return visit to Germany will take place during the May half term holidays in 2005.
