20th to 26th October 2004

Ian Rowe and 4 other members of staff accompanied 42 of our musicians from years 5 to 6i to Austria.

"A fantastic Alpine Adventure was had by all. We performed three concerts to a very high standard. The first to an appreciative audience of school children in St Johan, the second an impromptu outdoor concert (thanks to the wonderful weather) to a group of senior citizens with extra home support from some of our travelling parents. The last concert was at the Spa Resort of Vigaun.

The other highlights included rising above the clouds (over 2500m above sea level) to see the ice caves, diving to the depths to visit the salt mines and no trip to Austria would be complete without a visit to Salzburg and the birth place of W.A.Mozart.

All in all, the 20 hour coach journey was well worth it. Everyone enjoyed themselves (including the staff) and arrived back safe and sound ready to take on the rest of the Autumn Term."
