June 29th to July 2nd 2009 - Staying at Riva-Bella at Ouistreham (North of Caen)

Monday 29th - most of the day spent travelling to Normandy - ferry from Dover to Calais - familiarisation of Centre and games on the beach in the evening.
Tuesday 30th - Bayeux tapestry in the morning and then a visit to a cider farm in Bayeux where we had our picnic lunch. In the afternoon a visit to the Mulberry Harbour and museum at Arromanches. Then an emotional visit to the American cemetary at Omaha beech and a brief look at Omaha beach. Games on the beach at Riva-Belle in the evening.
Wednesday 1st - An early vist to Pegasus Bridge - the first bridge to be taken in the D-Day landings - and a guided tour around the museum. Then to Mont St Michel in the afternoon with a tour around the monastery; followed by a trip to a French supermarket before our evening meal and games again on the beach at Riva-Bella.
Thursday 2nd - A vist to the picturesque port of Honfleur on our return journey to England via Calais and Dover.
I hope these photos give an indication of the good time had by all - except for poor Libby who broke and dislocated two toes, playing football, and spent the second evening in Caen hospital!
