Year 8 Trip to Paris July 2002

19 pupils and 3 members of staff spent 4 days and 3 nights in Paris at the end of the summer term. A coach took us to Waterloo station where we caught our Eurostar train to Paris. With our Metro season tickets our main means of travelling around Paris was by using the underground, and we became most proficient at getting on and off trains, even in the rush hour and with suitcases at times!!. As our hotel was centrally located in the Montmatre region of Paris we were able to walk to many of our destinations and really got the feel of Paris.

So what did we see: A trip up the Eiffel Tower, a boat rip on the river Seine, a walk along the length of the Champs-Elysees, the 'Basilique du Sacre-Coeur', a trip to the top of the Arc de Triomphe, watching the artists paint protraits at the 'Place du Tetre' next to Sacre-Coeur, and opportunites to shop in street markets and Paris stores. We also spent a day in Disneyland.

A good time was had by all.
