The School Day

The school oper­ates an early starter service for parents from 8.00am to 8.30am each morn­ing. There is no charge for this service, which is covered by Nurs­ery staff and Classroom Assist­ants. Nurs­ery and Recep­tion chil­dren are taken to the Early Years Depart­ment and handed over person­ally to the member of staff on duty while chil­dren from other Years are super­vised in the playground.

Morn­ing lessons begin at 9am follow­ing a school assembly. Chil­dren are provided with water/milk and fruit at morn­ing break and an age appro­pri­ate hot meal in the dining room at lunch­time. After­noon lessons begin at 1.10pm and finish at 3.30pm.

Clubs and Activ­it­ies and Home­work Club run from 3.45 to 4.45 pm.

Clubs and Activ­it­ies include a wide range of popu­lar activ­it­ies for Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and Mini Club for chil­dren in Nurs­ery, Recep­tion and Years 1 and 2.

At 4.45 pm there is a Late Stay /Child Care provi­sion, which runs until 5.45 pm, at no extra cost.

Lunch at Friends’ School

The Lunch Menu at Friends’ School follows a 3 week cycle, and the current choices are shown below. In addi­tion to the listed menus, there is also a choice from our Pasta and Salad Bars, and soup and jacket pota­toes are avail­able. Fruit and yoghurts are also available.
