Masterchef Finalist Visits
Alex Rushmer, Masterchef 2010 finalist, came to talk to Year 11 and Sixth Form Food Technology students on Monday 30th January.
He spoke about his experiences on the show,the hard work it has taken setting up his new restaurant, and the perseverance required to become a professional chef.
The discussion revealed how Alex completed a degree in Social and Political Science at Cambridge University, but despite his qualifications, he decided to follow his passion for cooking.
The students valued his words of encouragement and the time he took to speak to them. He kindly invited our
aspiring chefs to spend a day in the kitchen of his restaurant, ‘The Hole in the Wall’.
