Large Senior
School Ensembles:
Chamber Choir:
For anyone with a voice who enjoys a good sing. The repertoire
covers Songs from the Shows, Gospel Music, Pop and the Classical
Favourites.
Concert Band:
Open to players of Strings, Brass, Woodwind and Percussion of Grade
2 + standard. Repertoire includes Music from the Movies, Light Classical
and Jazz favourites. An exciting tour of Austria is planned for
October 2004.
String Ensemble:
Open to players of the Orchestral String Family. If you have a
bow and you know how to use it, then come along on Thursday lunchtimes.
Repertoire includes music from the Western Classical Tradition as
well as some popular song arrangements.
Saxophone Group:

This group is made up of the whole family of Saxophones, from soprano
to baritone sax. The group plays a variety of music but has a jazz
bias. It is open to players of Grade 4 upwards.
Other Ensembles
Rock Band:
An activity run for those with an enthusiasm for pop, rock and
heavy metal. Louis Thorne (Guitar Teacher) takes this ensemble,
rehearsing covers as well as looking at improvising techniques.
Percussion Ensemble:
A rather loud group of musicians who enjoy hitting things. Led
by our very own Steve Hynes. Repertoire is mainly based on original
compositions written for the group and proves to be very popular
among the many students who take drum kit and percussion lessons.
Brass Group:
For all budding Brass players - from Trumpet to Tuba and beyond.
If you can buzz and want to play a variety of music then this is
for you.
Flute Ensemble:
Led by Alison Radley (Flute Teacher). Looking at small ensemble
playing technique. Trios, quartets and the like.
