A boy woke up on Saturday morn,
He opened his eyes and began to yawn.
He opened the curtains and what did he see….?
His cat was
FROZEN, poor Timothy!!
But that was beside the point,
There was lots of snow!
He ran down the stairs; let’s go go go!

By Emma Cochrane, Candy Willians, Mary
Ward and Vicki Banks.
The glistening, glowing, gorgeous snow,
Falls in the night, when nobody knows.
Shimmering and sparkling, softly it sits,
The virgin snow, in little bits.
When the fluffy
falling’s done,
Kids come out and have snow fun.
Pure, innocent and still, it stays,
For many days and many days.
Crunchy and crackly, under your feet,
And all along the icy street.
So then it melts and where it lay
A big wet puddle by the next day.
On Wednesday 28th, due to the snowy conditions, year 7Y was reduced to only 8 students. Inspired by the beautiful snow scene in the school grounds we wrote snow poems. To add interest, the boys competed against the girls to see which group could write the best poem in just twenty minutes.
The boys impressed the judge with their use of humour and the girls with their lovely descriptive language. Which poem do you like best?
