About the Nursery
Small beginnings perhaps, but the vital first steps towards a rounded and fulfilling education can be taken with confidence at Friends’ School. Children are welcomed into the Nursery in the term they become three years old. In our Early Years Department (Nursery and Reception) children will discover a safe, happy and caring environment where the accent is on a balanced day, enabling the child to learn both social and academic skills through a combination of play and more formal education.
Structured play is used to develop language, mathematical, physical, social, emotional and moral awareness. Children join the Junior School assemblies, make use of the extensive grounds and facilities, and enjoy wider activities such as music lessons to make sure their days are varied and rewarding.

We believe that learning through play is as important as formal education at this early stage and our goal is to create a well-balanced day where your child will learn both social and academic skills.
