Nurs­ery FAQs

How long is the school day?
Super­vi­sion begins at 8am and all pupils need to be in by 8.30am. Lessons finish at 3.20pm for Nurs­ery and at 3.30pm for Infants.

Can my child stay after school?
Chil­dren can remain in school until 5.45pm. Nurs­ery and Infant chil­dren can join Mini Club until 4.45pm and then be super­vised in an after school club called Late Stay which finishes at 5.45pm. More clubs and activ­it­ies are avail­able for those in Year 2.

How well do your pupils do?
The recent ISI inspec­tion said that “chil­dren make very good progress in their aquis­i­tion of the early learn­ing goals” and that at the end of year 2 our National Curriculum results were “well above the national aver­age in read­ing, writ­ing and above all mathematics”.

What happens if my child is ill during the day?
We have a Medical Centre staffed by qual­i­fied nurses. All Junior School pupils enjoy the bene­fits of the Medical Centre but remain registered with their own GP.

Are school lunches avail­able for the Nurs­ery?
Chil­dren in the Nurs­ery have a home cooked lunch in the dining room and healthy snacks and drinks are provided at break times.
