Activities

Lively, varied and stimulating best describe the various activities that Friends’ School offers. We are brilliantly placed between Cambridge and London, so there are regular cultural opportunitied to be enjoyed, from galleries, museums and theatres to lectures and exhibitions. We like to get further afield too, with residential experiences, exchange visits, ski trips, art history excursions and plenty more popping up regularly on the calendar.

All students are welcome from 8am and they may stay until their year group goes up into house. The extensive activities programme is regularly updated to accommodate students’ interests. There are currently activities including pottery, debating, book club, IT, and chess in addition to sports, art and drama clubs. Activities are also provided on Saturday mornings for boarders, and for day scholars who choose to join in.

From the age of 11, your child can benefit from the flexi -boarding facility in school. If pupils need to stay for an occasional night, and there is space in the Boarding House, then this can be easily arranged. The cost is often a pleasant surprise to parents when they compare it with the cost of a baby sitter. The strong sense of community at Friends’ ensures that pupils feel welcome.
