Entrance procedure
Working Open Morning - Wednesday 23rd May 2012 - 9.30am to 12 noon.
Full Open Morning - Saturday 13th October 2012 - 10.00 am to 12.30pm.
Year 7 Entrance Tests are normally on a Saturday near the start of February.
The normal age of entry into the Senior School is eleven and we have a small intake at age thirteen although we are happy to consider applications for entrance from pupils of other ages.
If you are interested in sending your child to the Senior School you are welcome to visit. We hold regular open mornings throughout the academic year, or you may prefer to have an individual visit to meet the Head, Graham Wigley and find out more about the opportunities we offer to Friends’ School pupils.
Click here to apply for a prospectus.
Following your visit, the next step is to register your child. The registration form can be downloaded here. You may also register your child without visiting the school. We will then invite your child to visit the school for a ‘taster day’. This will give them an opportunity to meet current pupils and to experience a number of lessons.
Selection of applicants for Year 7 and Year 9 is completed after our own Entrance Examination, which takes place towards the end of January of the year in which entry is sought. The examination includes English and mathematics tests as well as verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Confidential assessments from the school the candidate attends at present are requested and candidates are interviewed individually by the head or senior member of staff. Candidates for other year groups will assessed individually.
