AS and A Level
Physics is an exciting and satisfying subject to pursue beyond GCSE if you are curious, enjoy intellectual puzzles and like solving practical problems. You will develop a range of skills and abilities that will make you highly employable in scientific, technical, business and professional fields.
To study Physics at A level you must have studied Higher Tier GCSE Science, Maths and English. You should have achieved Grade B or higher in Physics GCSE or Additional Science GCSE. You should have the ability to think for yourself, to use your initiative and to persevere with new and challenging ideas is essential.
In each year of the course there are two externally assessed units plus an internally assessed practical skills unit.

Physics combines well with Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, ICT and Geography at A Level.
As well as benefiting from skilled specialist teaching, a pleasant laboratory and first class equipment in school, you will also enjoy opportunities to attend lectures by leading researchers at the Cambridge University Physics Centre.
